Eminem outruns his shadow in the new music video for “Fall.”
UPDATE // SEPTEMBER 4:
All those awful, terrible reviews of Em’s 2017 album Revival did not fall on deaf ears. The rapper went right back to the studio to record a followup, which he surprise-released last Friday – it’s on track to debut at No. 1.
The entire “Fall” video is Em running from the bad reviews – manifested as an evil shadow monster – until eventually he surrenders and seemingly agrees. Em literally steps on a Revival album in the clip.
EARLIER // AUGUST 30:
Surprise! Without warning, Eminem unleashed an entire new album titled Kamikaze.
Em’s previous effort, 2017’s Revival, might be the rapper’s least celebrated work ever. He heard the complains loud and clear, so he quietly spent this year working on a followup. The album art even features a “FU 2” on the cover (a tribute to Beastie Boys’ album License To Ill)… subtle!
The record is executives produced by Em and Dr. Dre, and features guest appearances from Joyner Lucas, Royce da 5’9, and two tracks with Jessie Reyez.
The second track off the album, “Greatest,” credits Kendrick Lamar because of its interpolation with “Humble.”
Sorry, Troye Sivan. Give it a spin below:
