Demi Lovato has plans to get sober once more.

Demi Lovato has plans to get sober once more.

The pop star stunned the world on Tuesday (July 24) when she was rushed to the hospital for what TMZ reported as an overdose on heroin.

Several reputable sites, including E! News, claim it was not heroin. The Blast reports nurses told police Demi was using methamphetamine, though it’s not clear in what capacity. If true, that contradicts the report she was administered Narcan, which is used to counter an opioid overdose.

There’s a lot of chatter surrounding Demi’s situation. Here’s what you need to know:

■ Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Kesha, Missy Elliott, Bruno Mars and many more have publicly wished Demi well. Read more about that here.

■ Selena Gomez has yet to comment, but E! says she’s “very upset and emotional,” adding “they always shared a special bond and they still have love for one another.”

■ Justin Bieber told paparazzi he “thought she was sober.” “I haven’t talked to her but my prayers go out to her and her family for sure,” calling the situation “terrible” and “sad.”

■ Before her OD, Demi “had been partying for 12 straight hours and it caught up with her,” a source told E! News. A separate source said Demi was “taking shots with her friends,” adding, “Demi wasn’t like super sloppy or wasted, definitely was drinking though. Her friends were cheering her on when she took a shot.”

■ TMZ claims people close to Demi attempted an intervention prior to Tuesday’s OD. However, “the intervention attempt was not successful — Demi refused and continued to party, instead.” They add that “other sources tell us she tried to make it seem like everything was okay, but her struggle became obvious shortly before Tuesday’s overdose.”

■ Paparazzi are camped outside Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where Demi is currently recovering.

■ Ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama visited Demi in the hospital this week. “He was serious, intense and seemed distant, but focused and very calm at the same time,” an eye witness said.

■ There’s good news on the horizon. Demi has reportedly said she is “very grateful to be alive” and plans to re-enter rehab.

My thoughts: I’m very grateful Demi is on the mend. I didn’t realize how much of a fan I am of hers until the menacing thoughts popped up in my head that we could lose her. I saw the Tell Me You Love Me Tour in Las Vegas earlier this year and showed her so much love when she announced to the crowd she was celebrating six years of sobriety. Hopefully the outpour of support shows the singer she’s loved and gets motivated to get back on track without help from toxic people, drugs or alcohol. x
