Zayn Malik is ready share more of his mind.
The rogue boy-bander is currently battling issues with anxiety – most recently, he cancelled a performance at the Summertime Ball Concert because of it – however homeboy seems pretty keen on giving interviews (are you catching the irony?).
His latest is with Paper magazine, and the "Pillowtalk" singer is admittedly readying a followup to Mind Of Mine, his No. 1 charting album. "We're just experimenting with different things," Malik says, adding he's teaming up with producer Malay for the record, the mastermind behind a lot of the MoM songs like “It’s You,” “Befour,” “Rear View,” “Truth,” “Blue” and “Bright."
“[Malay]’s a really cool guy, he’s really musically gifted in every sense. He just knows everything there is to know about everything — and he likes to tell you everything that he knows about everything and he’s a fun guy,” Malik told Spotify last year. “He loves music, and he’s all about getting the real perspective of the artist and the genuineness of the moment and he doesn’t like to record things 50 times over. He just kind of gets it there when it’s happening, and that’s something that’s quite rare that you find.”
Addressing his latest body of work, Malik said he had no intention of making Mind Of Mine so sexual, it just happened. "It wasn't a conscious decision to make [the album] sexual or refer to sex," Zayn says. "But I just found out that a lot of situations that I was in were quite sexual situations -- all of the time." He adds, "I enjoyed singing about [sex], clearly."
It's safe to assume MoM 2.0 will follow suit – Malik tells Paper him and girlfriend Gigi Hadid love to "Netflix and chill," adding "yeah, we do that a lot."
