Zayn kicks off his new era with help from PARTYNEXTDOOR.
We've been speculating over all of Zayn's former bandmates' forthcoming albums so much we forgot the "Pillowtalk" crooner was flying under the radar and recording a follow up to 2016's Mind of Mine.
Zayn spent a lot of last year getting a grip on his crippling anxiety. In fact, he wishes he could have sidestepped the whole fame thing entirely. "If I could go back, I’d have a few more years of anonymity,” he said last year.
Since we don't live in an alternate reality (at least not all the time), Zayn is forced to face the music. Since releasing his No. 1 album, the 24-year-old has released an autobiographical book and dropped a collaboration with Taylor Swift.
It was the perfect ruse to continue work on his next installment, the first taste of which comes today with his new song titled "Still Got Time" featuring rapper PARTYNEXTDOOR and production by Frank Dukes and Murda Beatz.
“Just stop looking for love / Girl you know you still got time,” Zayn sings over a mid-tempo summery beat. “This could be something if you let it be something / Don’t scare me away turning somethings into nothing babe.”
For PARTYNEXTDOOR's part, the rapper keeps it chill. “I know I’m working my magic / And I know you’re digging my fabric,” he raps. “I’m boyfriend material / You said it yourself you’re digging me / And I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t equally a feeling that we both feel.”
According to a press release from RCA, Zayn's new album drops in the summer.
