You know Christina Aguilera means business when she wears a pantsuit.
Xtina showed us what it means to perform in the Big Apple by kickstarting her comeback... in a big apple.
Did her opening performance of Frank Sinatra‘s “New York, New York” consist of scream-singing and whaling? Absolutely. And it was everything we hoped for and more.
Christina decided to throw off her top hat and transition to “On Broadway” by The Drifter's before finagling her way into Stevie Wonder‘s “Living For The City” while placing the fedora back on. Did I wonder if she'd throw it off once more? I did.
Just as I was gritting my teeth in anticipation of the next number, Nas walked out rapping to “N.Y. State of Mind.” Is this the beginning to Xtina's upcoming caviar ratchet era? I believe it is! And she's still donning the fedora.
Just then, Xtina decided to shout Alicia Keys' “Empire State Of Mind” and then angrily yell Sinatra’s “New York, New York” again while a fleet of Jubilee dancers kicked their legs down and up and back down again.
Look, if this is a glimpse into Christina's next era... I am ready. Enjoy:
