We haven't heard new music from Will Smith since 2005's Lost and Found album, so his Spanglish contribution on the remix for Bomba Estereo’s Grammy-nominated song "Fiesta" comes as a shocking and welcomed surprise. The Guardian reports Smith heard the song during a visit to Colombia and was so moved by the jam he requested to be featured.
“When I was told that Will Smith wanted to collaborate on a remix with Bomba, I couldn’t believe it,” band founder Simon Mejia said in a statement. “This opportunity to work with Will was beyond anything we have dreamed of ... It’s just magic.”
Perhaps it's the start to Smith's anticipated return. He enlisted the help of Kanye West on new tunes, saying earlier this year: "I went into the studio with Kanye. I’m thinking about it. I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet but I’m exploring. I’m in a creative ceiling. My son tells me I have to write out the things I don’t like. I can’t write and stop, I have to keep going and going and write them out."
