What’s Wrong With Selena and Ariana?

Being rich and famous ain't everything.

It might seem like pop stars Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande are living perfect, ideal lives and in many ways, they are.

But a few social media posts this week have left fans wondering what's eating away at them both, lately. Because something is.

Grande debuted a new hairstyle while praising the concept of "change", then told her fans they were "right" about...something, before clarifying in a now deleted tweet that her "change" isn't just about starting anew with her hair.

The now deleted tweets:

Fans speculated the 23-year-old has ditched her boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez, who infamously participated in Donutgate with Grande. It appears Ariana has deleted all her Instagram photos of him, except one. Nothing like a new hairstyle to shed an old boyfriend!

Meanwhile, Selena Gomez posted a rather downtrodden message on Instagram, saying she felt "unauthentic" and needed to make some changes:

Judging by the following comments she made before performing Kill Em With Kindness, it's likely she was referring to her insensitive comments regarding #BlackLivesMatter, after being revealed to have rejected an offer to tweet in solidarity:

“I get really frustrated. I get stupid sometimes. I say things that I don’t mean, or that come out wrong just because I care so badly. But the thing is, at the end of the day, no war in anger was ever won. I do know that deep down in my heart that I have to believe that we can love each other and always be kind no matter what it takes in us. I believe that we can do that, no matter what.”

Whatever's bothering these ladies, self reflection is halfway to the solution already. With legions of fans all over the world cheering them on, they'll be back on their feet in no time.
