And yet, the most startling moment of the interview is when West takes a trip down memory lane to talk about the last time he saw his friend Louise Wilson, a former professor at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, who passed away in 2014.
Recalling a dinner he had with Wilson in London, West says he thinks she knew she was going to pass away and wanted to give the rapper some advice about never settling for mediocrity.
I didn’t know we were gonna lose her. She told me, she said, 'Thank you for the times where we came to performances, and this has really meant a lot to me.' She would ... [begins to cry]
