Brandon Flowers' new music video for "Can't Deny My Love" is a bizarre journey that blurs the lines between dream and reality.
In the Robert Schober and Pat Scola-directed clip set in another era, Flowers prepares for a trip but is cautioned not to leave from his wife played by Evan Rachel Wood. He ignores her plead, assuring he'll be back in the morning.
Outside, Flowers immediately encounters odd stares, deals with the devil (played by Richard Butler) and magic. It's not long before Flowers wakes up and isn't sure if his night was real or fantasy... That is, until he ventures home.
The song is an awesome throwback, but the video's concept is something else entirely. I'll admit this is not the visual I pictured in my head upon playing and replaying the song recently, but representing the pioneer age in a synthy '80s pop song is creative genius.
