The girls will reunite for a tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary sans Posh Spice.
Make it last forever.
The rumor of a Spice Girls reunion has festered since last summer when reports swirled the ladies (minus Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham) would embark on a massive international tour in honor of the 20th anniversary of releasing their hit song "Wannabe."
The Sun reported Beckham was too busy to jump back into performing.
The claim became very real when Mel C told reporters of a comeback tour. "potentially, yeah," she said. "Once we sort everything out we make an announcement, but right now we're just figuring it all out. Next year is your 20 anniversary so we're really just trying to make sure something happens."
Then last month, Scary Spice nearly spilled the beans. "I think I'm the one putting all the rumors out there," she said. "To be serious, it is our 20th anniversary this year and it would be rude not to celebrate. So hopefully something will be happening pretty soon ... I can't tell you what it is yet."
Golf claps to the girls for trying to carry on after Posh Spice decided to leave the group, but a reunion tour without all of the original members participating would likely dissuade '90s kids from buying a ticket. Lucky for us, according to a report from Closer, Beckham is in. They claim she agreed to perform several dates, but will only commit to a few dates “for the sake of her marriage.”
“There are still lots of details to sort out, but Victoria’s said she’ll perform with the girls," their source says. "However she stressed she needed to focus on David and the kids this year after a stressful 2015 of trying to juggle work and family life, so committing to all the dates would be too much. She already has a lot on her plate with her design empire.”
Not so fast... Beckham's publicist shot TMZ a statement today (Jan. 12) her involvement, saying Posh "has been very respectful about the fabulous time they had together in the past, however her focus is now very much her family and fashion business."
We'll take what we can get?
