Sivan describes the creation of "Blue Neighbourhood" then offers his first live U.S. television performance ever.
Sivan explains he wrote much of the album in garages, bedrooms, apartments and hotel rooms, and used a baby voice along the way.
“When I’m writing with this particular writing group, we’ll talk in, like, a baby voice,” he says in a behind-the-scenes clip on Fallon. “It kind of informs some of the lyrics. There’s this one lyric: ‘We’ve been making shades of purple out of red and blue,’ but for me, it’s always ‘We’ve been making shades of purple out of wed and bwoo... when I’m touring, I hope that doesn’t come out.”
Sivan also details the creation of several other tracks on the record as well as working with influential songwriters like Jack Antonoff.

Troye Sivan is the hottest star under the age of 21.That's how Fallon described the Blue Neighbourhood singer ahead of his performance on The Tonight Show on Tuesday (Dec. 8). The youngster didn't let his first live U.S. television debut get the best of him, rocking his performance of "Youth" followed by a simple message to fans with a blue heart and house emoji (signifying the album title).
