Tinashe could release her new album this year. Maybe not. Who knows?
The last time I wrote about Tinashe releasing Joyride was March 23, 2017. The story opened up with the following:
Do you know how many times BreatheHeavy has reported on a tentative release date for Tinashe's album Joyride? Receipts. But the latest from the pop star? She's telling NME the album will drop “towards the end of this summer, early fall.”
That timeline could still be true, but the pop star revealed this weekend she has plans to record for several more months. MONTHS. WITH AN S.
“Things haven’t always gone according to my original plan,” she told The Fader of the delays, “but that’s life, and things change.”
She clarified what many of us speculated. "It’s not like it’s sitting in a vault locked up, it’s always getting better and improving." Then the bomb: "I plan on doing a solid few more months recording then hopefully getting it out this year."
Something messy behind-the-scenes is taking place, and I'm not OK with it.
