If you're a TIDAL subscriber, Jay Z, Rihanna or Madonna can look up your contact information up and also call you.
Tidal executive Vania Schlogel told Business Insider some of the high-profile owners like Jay Z and Jack White have been personally calling fans subscribing their streaming service.
Co-owners/musicians of the company are "given their own accounts on the site which they can use to monitor who listens to their music, and to see statistics about how their albums are performing."
Schlogel says that part of that system allows them to view contact information of TIDAL's users so that musicians can get in touch with them directly.
One unsuspecting fan told Jay Z "This is the best customer service call I’ve ever received!"
The strategy behind revealing this is to encourage young people to sign up in the slim hopes their favorite artist contacts them, but does anyone else find it slightly alarming (I felt a similar unsettling feeling finding out about "Selena The One") that your contact information is this accessible, even if it is for Nicki Minaj to hit you up.
