The Grammy Country Committee Rejected Beyonce’s “Daddy Lessons”

Beyonce will not win a Grammy in any country category at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

The Lemonade singer leads the pack at the upcoming Grammys with nine nominations, including, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rock Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Album, which marks the first time any performer has been nominated for four awards across four genres in one award season, CelebBuzz reports. But one genre she'll miss out on dominating? Country.

A person familiar with the Grammy nomination process told The Associated Press that Beyonce submitted "Daddy Lessons" to the country category, which includes best country song and country solo performance, but said the country music committee rejected the song.

Beyonce performed the song at the Country Music Awards alongside the Dixie Chicks last month, and later released a studio version of the song featuring the country trio. You may recall the CMAs removed her performance entirely at one point because of the outrage she was a featured performer.
