All of Taylor Swift's albums will be made available on Spotify on Friday.
Well this is awkward. Katy Perry's new album Witness drops tonight, and in a surprise move by her arch nemesis, all of the 1989 singer's safely guarded music will appear on Spotify and Amazon beginning at 12 am EST as well. The timing is horrendous.
Fans suspected something was up when Swift's Spotify account got verified last month.
Swift has famously restricted most of her music from Spotify due to her relationship with Apple Music.
According to Taylor Nation, the official Instagram of TaylorSwift.com and Taylor's management team, her catalogue is being made available to stream on Spotify for several reasons: to celebrate 1989 selling over 10 Million Albums Worldwide and the RIAA's 100 Million Song Certification announcement.
"Taylor wants to thank her fans by making her entire back catalog available to all streaming services tonight at midnight."
Perry opened up about her feud with Swift in the upcoming issue of NME magazine. She said Tay Tay tried to "assassinate my character with little girls."
Stream everything below. Your move, Katy.
