Swift is the latest entertainer to tribute those lost in the national tragedy.
A number of Swifties had found it unusual for the singer to not acknowledge the tragedy at all, considering how she has strongly aligned herself with LGBT+ causes since 2015. But five days later, Swift took to Twitter and Instagram to share her sympathies:
Taylor Swift writes the names of every person killed in Orlando. At a time when negative publicity for 26-year-old Swift was reaching levels not seen since late 2012, Taylor redirects attention to the worst terror attack on U.S soil since 9/11.
"With a heavy heart...as you bury your loved ones this week, please know that there are millions of us sending you love and our deepest sympathy in the face of this unthinkable and devastating tragedy."Her tribute was similar to Lady Gaga's who read aloud the names of all 49 victims at Los Angeles's City Hall.
