I wanted to bring someone back — a throwback of sorts. [Someone] that definitely needed some more shine. All I can say is that it will be a real female fun night. It’s a bit old school, yes. But when I think when this person enters the stage and when you hear the first ring of the chord, I think jaws will drop and faces will melt.Missy Elliott definitely fits the bill - the quintessential throwback, since she hasn't had a massive hit since 2005's "Lose Control" with Ciara and Fatman Scoop - Elliott could definitely do with a bit more 'shine,' as Katy puts it. Despite being one of the flyest female rappers in the game for the better part of a decade, Missy hasn't managed to make it work in while now, so it'd be great to see her with a platform like the Super Bowl halftime show to launch herself back into the public consciousness. And it wouldn't be the first time the two superstars have collaborated - Missy appeared on the remix of Katy's number one hit "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" way back in 2011 - lending more legitimacy to the idea.
