Spotify Reveals The Song Of Summer 2016

Was it "Cheap Thrills"? "One Dance"? "Needed Me"?

This summer has been jam-packed with huge pop hits - some surprise smashes, some obvious successes - and after countless blog predictions Spotify has finally revealed the biggest hit of them all.

So, which song has won the coveted title of Song of Summer 2016?

With over 757 million streams between June 1 and August 31, Drake's monster hit "One Dance" unsurprisingly takes the title after ruling the airwaves and topping charts internationally all summer long.

His beau Rihanna is the runner-up with her Calvin Harris collaboration "This Is What You Came For", however Drake was the obvious winner as "One Dance" leads with over 100 million more streams.

It's unlikely the couple will be fighting over it considering they both appear on the 25-song list 3 times ("Needed Me" #16, "Controlla" #25), with their duet "Too Good" coming in at #6. Mr and Mrs Spotify, am I right?

Sia and Sean Paul's "Cheap Thrills" comes in third, followed by The Chainsmokers' "Don't Let Me Down" at #4 and Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop The Feeling" rounds up the Top 5.

Ariana Grande's pop masterpiece "Into You" was anticipated to be the soundtrack of the summer by many blogs and pretty much declared so by Gay Twitter, however it's placed at #15. The injustice!

Fifth Harmony, Desiigner, Shawn Mendes and Major Lazer also make the list.
