Sorry, Taylor Swift Is Not Performing At The VMAs

VMAs are cancelled.

Taylor Swift undoubtedly has one of the most anticipated releases of 2017, and it all goes down in a few hours from now. She's chosen to release it just several days before the VMAs, which take place on Sunday, August 27, with Katy Perry taking the reigns as the award show's host. There were rumors that Swift would perform with Perry, but the "Swish Swish" singer denied it. As did a producer for the show, who told ET: "There's nothing happening right now, but wouldn't that be great! But no."

That makes sense; Taylor wouldn't be caught dead performing with Perry, but will she use the VMAs as a platform to promote her new tune? Also no.

"Not so far, no. That's not happening as far as [I know]," he said. "I've certainly seen all the rumors flying around, but that's not happening."

Taylor's theme this era is very elusive, and it appears she's not ready to expose herself just yet.
