Sky Ferreira has announced that the lead single of her next album is called "Guardian."
The singer teased the new song on Instagram and confirmed its released is scheduled for this summer, meanwhile her sophomore record "Masochism" will drop sometime next year.
Sky cannot be heard in the preview of "Guardian" but the instrumental of luscious strings, performed by Danny and Rahki, is enough to get fans excited for her new material.
She performed an early version of the song whilst on tour last November and it sounded promising then, so with the richness of these strings added into the mix "Guardian" could be her grandest-sounding song to date.
The 22-year-old's debut album, "Night Time, My Time," was well-received by critics and fans alike, despite the dance-pop sound of her earlier work doing a complete 180 with the darker synth-heavy rock record.
"Guardian" was previewed with an eery painting of Sky wearing a ski mask but she has told fans that it is not the album cover, so we assume it's not being used for any promotional purposes beyond this initial teaser.
