Sia’s new song “Angel By The Wings” is an emotionally-charged “girl power anthem.”
The elusive singer recently released a handful of new tracks off her re-released No. 1 charting album This Is Acting, teamed up with Queen Latifah and Miguel for a song titled “Satisfied” off the Hamilton mixtape and reunited with frequent collaborator Greg Kurstin on the anthemic song “Never Give Up” off the soundtrack to the Australian-American-British film Lion.
She also has a tender ballad titled “Angel By The Wings” from the upcoming documentary film The Eagle Huntress out today (Dec. 1). Her delicate vocals twinkle behind a piano as she sings about harnessing a moment of triumph through adversity.
“I’m incredibly grateful that Sia took the time to write and record this very special song,” said the film’s director, Otto Bell. “It’s a wonderful vote of confidence for our documentary. I could not have imagined a more fitting, timeless piece of music for the film – it’s such a beautiful girl power anthem!”
The Eagle Huntress follows the story of Aisholpan, a 13-year old Mongolian girl who aims to become the first female eagle hunter in the 2,000 years of the male-dominated history.
