Shania Twain is letting go of the past and embracing the present in her new music video for “Life’s About To Get Good.”
The country singer's new visual is a celebration of sorts. Twain is moving on from the painful memories of her divorce from ex-husband Robert “Mutt” Lange, who cheated on the singer with her best friend/assistant. “Life’s About To Get Good” is a reassurance that, well... life's about to get good.
“I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I’m not in the mood to write a feeling-sorry-for-myself song,’” Shania said about the new tune. “You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
In the clip, Twain rids her home of ugly reminders and starts fresh. A fleet of dancers helps along the way before they all eventually break out into song and dance in paradise. It's cheesy, but it works, and it's extremely cute.
The single serves as the lead release off Twain's forthcoming album Now, out Sep. 29.
