You know it's gonna be a dope ass video when knee pads are involved.
Sevyn dropped the first taste from her forthcoming album Girl Disrupted last month with the Gucci Mane-assisted single "Prolly," but the R&B star is changing things up with her next release: the '90s-inspired cool jam "My Love For You."
The semi-black & white visual, shot by director Mike Ho, incorporates slick dance moves dreamed up by world-renowned choreographer Fatima Robinson, who crafted routines for Michael Jackson ("Remember the Time"), Aaliyah ("More than a Woman") and Mary J. Blige ("Family Affair").
“‘My Love for You’ is a reminder of the kind of love we truly deserve, a declaration to your teammate, your partner, your best friend,” Sevyn told Complex. “We have all kissed a couple frogs thinking they were the one. But that shouldn’t make us jaded. Let’s celebrate love!”
The video doesn't break any barriers, but it's not meant to. Shiny light rays beam through an abandoned factory as Sevyn and her girls gyrate in unison. At one point, the singer is caressing a man's chest and on all four knees atop a convertible. The knee pads would have come in handy then, too.
