Paulina Rubio confirms she has a song with Selena Gomez in the works.
It's been over five years since Rubio released 2011's Brava!, but the pop star is hard at work on a followup which is expected to debut next year. We don't know much about the sound she's aiming for, but one thing's for sure: expect a collaboration with Selena Gomez.
In a new interview with Vanidades magazine, Rubio mentioned her duet with the "Hands To Myself" singer and expects it to drop in the first quarter of 2017.
“It’s truly a warrior, [in the sense that] it has a little of something from each genre, like banda, and pop, collaborations with DJ Snake and Selena Gomez,” Rubio says.
“I was looking to maintain the key element: for the music to be dance-able.”
Gomez is recording new music as well. She began her Revival followup last year, but put new album plans on hold when she snuck away to a rehab facility to focus on her mental health. Since resurfacing back into the spotlight (and Instagram), Gomez was spotted at dinner with producer Hit-Boy. Songwriter Justin Tranter, who played a huge role on her last LP, revealed he's currently working with Gomez.
"Selena knew who the f--k she was and what she wanted to sound like," Tranter said in a recent interview. "Its the executive job to help the artist to execute their vision. Back in the days, you were either an artist who wrote or you weren't and now there's a little bit of both. Selena is becoming a really strong writer and she always knows what she wants to say, but now we're writing with her more and more and this bitch is killing it and its really cool to be a part of that process."
