Selena Gomez Is Trying Out Country Music By Collaborating With Thomas Rhett

Pop star Selena Gomez is going country.

I'm pleased to say Selena trolled us, y'all. Last week, she reportedly revealed plans to put her music career on hold to focus on having "a personal life." Sure, sure. But since then, Gomez has released a cover of Yaz's "Only You" and an acoustic version of "Kill Em With Kindness" off the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack. And now this: She's collaborating with country singer Thomas Rhett.

If you're unfamiliar with the 26-year-old, check out his brand new single "Craving You" off his forthcoming album out later this year. During a new interview, Rhett dropped the bomb he's teaming up with the pop star.

If Selena wants to test the waters in other genres, I'm all for it. Anything to keep her fired up and interested in releasing music.

Meanwhile, the songbird is hard at work on her Revival followup, which features collaborations from Jax Jones, Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter and Gucci Mane.
