A song by Selena Gomez featuring The Weekend, co-written with Nicki Minaj and produced by Max Martin? Sounds too good to be true.
This is the second instance a report about Selena Gomez and The Weeknd having a song together has gained traction. So, it must be true! The rumor first popped up in April. An unidentified source had this to say: "They really clicked musically when they were working on a song together," the source said. "Their chemistry was off the charts and she's really into him."
Here we are nearing June, and we have some unconfirmed details. According to Elle UK, an update on Max Martin's Wikipedia page claimed Gomez and The Weeknd have a new song together titled "In Her Element" that features the Starboy singer and was written by Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, Ryan Tedder & Nicki Minaj and produced by Martin. Star-studded! But at this point pretty unbelievable.
For what it’s worth, the same screen capture listed another new tune written by Michaels, Tranter and Tedder titled “Join The Club.”
It goes without saying Wikipedia is not the most reliable source, but even the hint at such a collaboration deserves our undivided attention.
If this isn't in the works, then someone is certainly a bad liar...
