Seal Says Lorde’s “Green Light” Is Bad

Seal, who has not had a No. 1 song since 1995, thinks Lorde's lead Melodrama cut "Green Light" is garbage.

Lorde's new album is sitting pretty at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Australia's ARIA Albums Chart, but it's safe to assume Seal didn't contribute towards the pop star's big week.

The Voice Australia contestant Sarah Stone sang "Green Light" in a new episode over the weekend, which prompted Seal to lambaste her song choice. Everyone was impressed. Everyone except Seal.

“After that performance, is Sarah looking like the strongest female voice in the competition?” host Sonia Kruger asked him.

“The strongest female voice in the competition? No," Seal remarked. "Look, Sarah, I really like you — I’ve told you that off set. I think you made the most of a not particularly good song. I’m not a big fan. I couldn’t sing that song because it wouldn’t inspire me, but I thought you did great,” he told her.

Stone’s coach, Boy George, chimed in: “well she sang it better than Seal!”

“Perhaps, because Seal doesn’t sing bad songs,” Seal responded.

BreatheHeavy has receipts that he does.

I kid.

Naturally, the Internet reacted...

We dedicate this to Seal...
