We were surprised Sam Smith won a Golden Globe for his Spectre theme song “Writing’s On The Wall.”
But we’re more surprised he doesn’t know who Thom Yorke is (cue co-writer Jimmy Napes whispering “from Radiohead”) and disappointed how he responded to the entire thing.
During a Q&A with reporters at the ceremony on Sunday, Smith was asked whether he was shocked Thom Yorke released his own Spectre theme on Christmas by not-so-quietly whispering to Napes, “Thom Yorke?”
“Yeah, I was a little bit surprised,” Smith said in the intro to his fib. “Not going to lie, a little bit surprised, but I haven’t listened to it personally because I did the Spectre theme song.”
