The British pop star is reportedly enlisting a heap of unique talent to help craft his best effort yet.
The Sun reports Williams is collaborating with Welsh singer Shirley Bassey, electro duo Basement Jaxx and English MC Big Narstie.
“I got a call saying Robbie wanted to do a song with me and Shirley," Narstie said this week. “Thinking it was a prank, I went to the studio — and Robbie was sitting there in his tracksuit. It’s going to shock the world. Shirley is on the track, Basement Jaxx have made it. It’s mental. The song is sick.”
The "Rock DJ," who hasn't put forth an album since 2013's Swings Both Ways, is also working with rapper Example.
The two hit up the recording studio with Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid last month.
"I've wanted to write with him for a while. He's one of those ones, you just don't know what kind of track you're going to make," Example told Digital Spy. "I turned up to the studio and they already had a rough bit of music laid down, like some guitars and drums and stuff. Johnny's amazing at all that."
Example, who's real name is Elliot Gleave, said he and Williams "just started freestyling over the top of it," adding: "[We were] singing and rapping absolute gobbledygook and hoping that an idea pops up. I rapped on it and Robbie did a half-spoken word rap thing - a bit like [Underworld's] 'Born Slippy'. That sort of vibe.
Gleave isn't sure if it will make the final cut, but there's a chance it could be Williams' first release. By the looks of it, the pop veteran already started filming a music video. His wife, actress and Loose Women panellist Ayda Field, hinted her hubby was busying filming in a new clip posted on Instagram.
"EXCLUSIVE!!! Is that you @robbiewilliams shooting a new music video?!," she wrote. "#behindthescenes #robbiewilliams #pop #music #set #setlife #louboutin #louboutinhomme #🎤 #🎼 #🎧 #exclusive"
