Rita Ora reimagines her lead single "Poison."
It's rare we like an acoustic version of a song more than the original, but Rita Ora's alternate creation of the song from her long-awaited new album sounds stunning in this stripped down version. She re-recorded the vocals and added guitars to concoct a brilliant but appropriately mild form of the former pop jam.
"The album for me has so many different perceptions," Ora tells ThatGraceJuice of her upcoming LP. "You kind of listen to one song and it's almost like such a sexual, acoustic ballad, and then you listen to 'Poison,' and it's like a powerful... half beat. It was like inspired by passion pain gives, but also my love for storytelling. This album is a storybook. It's not like it's a therapy disc for me. It's just an honest album. It's no metaphors. It has its own thing."
She adds The Weeknd and Frank Ocean influence much of the record (and has a surprise collaboration... Madonna?).
