Rita Ora takes a stab at Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen."
You might not know this about Ora, but she loves the rap game. She recently remixed her "Poison" single with South London’s hip-hop duo Krept & Konan, but today the spotlight's on the "Kingdom Come" singer's throwdown on This Is Max. Ora shows off her skills with a cover of Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen." She starts off a bit slow, but after tackling the chorus, Ora throws away the lyric sheet to confidently finish.
"There was a reason why I split up with him," Ora revealed about her breakup with Calvin Harris in her new interview with Marie Claire. "And there was a reason why I'm at this point in my life where I feel like I have so much musical freedom, and I don't have to explain myself to anybody… It was more of a thing where I was in awe. I was at that point in my relationship where I felt he could do no wrong." But then... "I thought he had my back and that he'd never steer me wrong, but then 'I Will Never Let You Down' came out, and everything started to go a bit weird. I don't know if it was because business was mixed with personal or what."
It's this distinction between blabbing about her personal life and the lukewarm response her music receives that's pulled Ora back from reaching her full potential. It's great to see her having fun singing Fetty Wap songs, but perhaps it's time to take said musical freedom and get serious.
