Happy birthday, Rihanna!
Rihanna turns 28 on Saturday (Feb. 20), and she might be presented the best possible gift an artist can ask for... a No. 1 song on the Hot 100. Billboard predicts her lead ANTi single "Work," which scooted up 7-4 this week will nudge out Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" for the top spot. They're both predicted to rack up 100,000 in sales with Rihanna having a slight edge on the Biebs.
Based on projected sales, according to sources, and streaming and airplay data, collected by Nielsen Music so far in the tracking period, for next week's Hot 100 (dated March 5), "Work" and "Love Yourself" are essentially tied in projected downloads sold, with approximately 100,000 each, according to sources' forecasts, with "Work" looking slightly ahead of "Love Yourself." "Work" is noticeably ahead in streams, but "Love Yourself" is leading significantly in radio airplay.
Riri's "Work" music video featuring Drake drops just in time – she teased a clip of it on Friday and announced the full clip debuts on Monday.
Considering the backlash she's facing after canceling / postponing ANTi tour dates due to ~production delays~, Rihanna needed this win.
