Rihanna's aware the mass majority of comments she reads on her Instagram are mostly demands.
It's hard not to notice the thousands of comments on every one of Rihanna's posts on social media requesting a date when the new album is expected to drop. The problem is... Rihanna's not finished making it! In the new (free) issue of NME magazine, Riri says point blank, "it's not done!"
“To me it’s never done until it’s done. Until the final moment,” she says. "No matter what I post online, within three comments there’s somebody saying, ‘Where is ‘R8’?’ I could post anything. Nothing else matters. They don’t care about anything but that. But it makes me excited, because I can’t wait to give them something great."
That moment is highly anticipated by millions of fans, but the Barbados beauty isn't letting the pressure get to her. She also cites conflicting schedules with Kanye West as part of the hold up, who's credited as executive producer of the future cut.
“Now we just have to wait to get back in the studio together,” Rihanna says of the 2020 President. “His schedule and mine are totally opposite right now, but I think this month we’ll be back in the studio."
Meanwhile, Rihanna continues to promote brands she's signed with, including Puma, Dior and her own Murder Rih Wrote sock line, but claims her "next step" is to put out the album.
“I have so many songs I love – and they’re so different – that it’s hard to actually put them all on the same album.”
Should we take her word for it?
