Rihanna had some interesting things to say when she sat down with V Magazine to discuss #R8.
The ever candid Rihanna sat down with V recently and opened up about her lead single, her privacy and taking time off over the last two years.
When asked about the polarizing "FourFiveSeconds", Rihanna revealed what exactly drew her to the Kanye West written track:
The thing that made me fall in love with ["FourFiveSeconds"] is the juxtaposition of the music and the lyrics. When you read the lyrics it’s a completely different song than what you are hearing. The music is easygoing, but the lyrical content is very loud and in your face. In performing this, the key was to make sure the aggression wasn’t lost."
She also had some very Rihanna remarks to make about her privacy, simply questioning, "Do I even give a d--k about [privacy] anymore?"
On the topic of #R8, Bad Gal Ri Ri says, "Dude, I’m in love with my interludes. This one called ‘James,’ joint is on constant repeat. [The album is] soulful and aggressive, whether it’s lyrically, musically, or just the tone of my voice."
She was also quite direct about the fact that she hasn't spent the last two years sitting around doing nothing. She claims:
"I didn’t actually take time off. The past two years are the hardest I’ve ever worked. I’ve been working on two albums, an animated film, shooting for multiple magazines, designing for Puma and Stance [socks], a new line of fragrances, a summer tour, I launched my first annual Diamond Ball at the end of last year, and I’ve also been developing several projects to be revealed in the near future."
Yes, you read that correctly, Rihanna has been working on two albums. What exactly she means by this is unclear - she could, of course, be referring to the soundtrack to new film 'Home', or perhaps a collaborative album with rumored touring partner and #R8 executive producer Kanye West?
The Bajan beauty also stuns on the cover in a white blond wig and not much else:
