The director confirms Rihanna's role in the $180 million movie.
It appears that fell through, but if it's any consolation, Riri will star in an upcoming sci-fi filmed titled Valerian, director Luc Besson confirmed.
He posted on Instagram, "RIHANNA is in VALERIAN!!!!! ....and she has a big part!! I'm Sooo excited!!!"
Rihanna will join Dane DeHaan from The Amazing Spider-Man sequel, Clive Owen, and Cara Delevingne in the $180 million 3D film. This isn't Riri's first on-screen project either, starring in 2012's Battleship, 2013 comedy This Is The End and 2015's Home.
"If it was not natural, I won't be able to do it," Besson said in a new interview of making the film. "But this is such an adventure for me, and I know it's really a turning point ... It's the first time in the history of cinema in Europe that we going to do this kind of film. The last example was The Fifth Element. It's like telling someone you're going to the Olympics and you're going to race, and there is Usain Bolt next to you. And you say, fuck yeah, I want to run."
Meanwhile, the album will drop soon (said no one ever).
