Everyone, from Justin Timberlake to Alanis Morrissette, has joined Taylor Swift on stage at some point during her 1989 tour, but don’t expect Rihanna to be next!
In her new interview with NME magazine, Rihanna was asked if she would be interested in joining the many stars who have made cameos at Taylor’s shows. She revealed that it is not likely to happen, saying “I don’t think I would. I just don’t think it makes sense.”
She went on explain that she feels her and the “Bad Blood” singer are just too different: “I don’t think our brands are the same, I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same. In my mind she’s a role model, I’m completely not.”
We understand where she is coming from. RiRi is known for her IDGAF attitude, complete with drug-use, cursing and nudity. This doesn’t exactly fit with Taylor’s squeaky-clean, good girl image. However, great things often come out of collaborations between artists that are seemingly completely different (Lady Gaga and Tony Bennet, anyone?).
Even though the “Rude Boy” singer will not be joining the 1989 party, we don’t think Taylor should be too upset. After all, she doesn’t seem to be having any trouble convincing A-listers to join her on stage night after night.
