Lady Gaga will share her Grammy spotlight to pay tribute to the late David Bowie.
“Every morning I wake up and I think, ‘What would Bowie do?’,” Gaga once said of the legendary singer. She’ll have the opportunity to explore that further when she attends the 2016 Grammys on Feb. 15.
Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich confirmed to the New York Times she’ll cover “at least three or four” Bowie songs “is going to be a true homage to who David was, particularly musically, but not ignoring his influence on fashion and pop culture in a broader way.”
“What I have in common with David Bowie is the way that I combine theatrics and the visual in all of my performances,” Gaga said years ago. “The fashion and the imagery and what I am trying to say as an artist goes much further beyond the music… the intention for me is not to sound just like Bowie. It is to pull references from all these different people and create something fresh and new and futuristic and pop and different.”
