"I do not condone or recommend the tearing down of another female."
Better late than never, but Remy Ma... the damage is done. The rapper released a ferocious diss track against Nicki Minaj last week titled "shETHER" after Minaj threw in a couple of digs aimed at Remy in several new tracks. "shETHER" picks apart Nicki's body, career and personal life for an entire six minutes.
Minaj was too busy filming a music video with Future to respond, which sparked Remy to release a followup titled "Another One." Now that the dust has settled, Remy is reflecting on her actions, and she 's unhappy with them.
In an hour-long sit-down on BuzzFeed’s Another Round, Remy says she regrets putting the track out. "I do not condone or recommend the tearing down of another female. That’s not what I do," she said. "Anybody that knows me knows that I embrace females. I think we work so much better when we work together and when we help each other."
She clarified – if someone gets on her bad side then watch out. She explained the longstanding tension between the two, and why that inspired her to record “shETHER.”
"However, in the event that you piss me off and we become archenemies, run for cover."
"It just bothers me that this record that I put out where it’s literally picking apart a female went so viral, and every media outlet wants to talk about it and pick it up; I feel like we could’ve done the same thing working together. I just personally think it would’ve been so much cooler…if we came together and made something crazy […] It could’ve been totally different. I don’t regret [“shETHER”], but I’m not particularly proud of it."
Maybe this will calm Nicki down from creating a response track that annihilates Remy. And pigs fly.
