This might take a bit.
Lorde made one solid splash with her debut album Pure Heroine in 2013 and she's steadily working on the follow-up with the same man, who helped work his magic on material such as "Royals" and my personal fave "Team." During the 32nd annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards on Wednesday night (April 30), Billboard spoke with producer Joel Little and it looks like the duo is aiming to spread their wings into new territory with the upcoming project.
We’ve written a couple of songs. We haven’t done a whole lot of production on it yet. We just want to make sure the songs are really good and try and experiment with some new things -- just different beats and whatever occurs in the studio.”
As BreatheHeavy reported back in January, Lorde is in no rush to release new music anytime soon, and that's alright in my book. It's not like the public is absolutely craving material (I'm looking at you, Adele) from the singer, so take your time and make something worth the wait.
In the meantime, let's all just continue to speculate why the hell Lorde acted as a Macy's shoe saleswoman by holding Taylor's foot in this Instagram post.
