Pink shares her inspiring theme song, "Today's The Day," for the upcoming season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Aside from her VMA-scuffle with Demi Lovato, we haven't heard much from Pink this year. She gave a couple one-off interviews to promote her side project Me + You with Dallas Green and took home the President's Award for songwriting from BMI, but the "So What" singer steps back into the spotlight, premiering her new song titled "Today's The Day" which will be used as the theme song for season 14 of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
She shared a bit of behind-the-scenes footage recording the song last month, but took to the stage to sing it in front of a live audience on Ellen today (Sep. 10). We admit, Pink is very good at the carpe diem anthems and though we would like to see a different side of her on her next pop record, we can appreciate the uplifting spirit she brings to the song and, really, nobody is here for a sad Ellen Degeneres song.
Today's the day I've been waiting for / Tomorrow won't come after all / Yesterday's so far away / This today's the only day / Somebody please stop the clock / Don't ever let this day stop
Pink told the audience during her acceptance speech of the President's Award for songwriting, "Write your story… even if you're the only one to read it."
That's exactly the tone of "Today's The Day."
