Pink is simply stating what we all think.
Gone are the days when Britney Spears rips off a pantsuit to reveal a nude-colored glittery ensemble or watching Courtney Love throw things at Madonna. The MTV VMA's saw the lowest ratings of all time this past Sunday, and we can't help but blame the lack of organic controversy as the show's biggest limiting factor. No longer are we blessed with Lil Kim's pastie, Michael Jackson awkwardly kissing Lisa Marie Presley and Christina Aguilera getting a camera snub en lieu of capturing Justin Timberlake's reaction - instead we're writing about Kanye West announcing on a whim he'd run for President or deciding whether Nicki Minaj's diss towards Miley Cyrus was real or staged because... what else is there to say?
Singer Pink, who grew up in the white-hot spotlight of the thriving VMA's era, says she's disillusioned from Sunday's telecase. She has a private Instagram account under the guise of @bethwsh and supposedly said, “I felt embarrassed and sad. And old. We’re getting old. But in all seriousness; I felt sad because music is supposed to inspire. It saved my life. This trash won’t save any kids life. In a world that is even scarier and with lives still worth saving, who will stand up and have soul? Disenfranchised to say the least. Let down by my industry peers. Beside Macklemore and phar. and bieber (pre-sob fest) and the weekend, Tori Kelly was dope too. The rest was gross and embarrassing and hard for this aging pop star to believe."
What's interesting is who she did not mention - Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift immediately come to mind. We also find it interesting one of the night's only real moments of authenticity, when Bieber cries after his "What Do You Mean" performance, she looks down on.
Pink posted the following on her public Twitter account after the show on Sunday, "Ok @ToriKelly - fan for life. Great freaking performance tonight, you live singing, guitar playing accapella sanging woman" and "I'm convinced MTV just bought up all dispensaries before airing this show."

And if you're doubting that's really Pink's account, feast your eyes on her responding to someone's Tweet with her verified account in 2013:
@WMGAstephen thanks buddy:)
