Pentatonix takes on a classic.
Well this is interesting. Last week, Ashley Tisdale and Lea Michele covered Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” for Tisdale's Music Sessions series on YouTube, and in a strange turn of events... a cappella group Pentatonix have also covered the song. Like Tisdale and Michele's version, it's far slower than the original. The group incorporated a cello into the song and picks up tempo towards the middle of it.
"We just wanted to take a minute to thank you all for your ongoing love and support," they wrote in the video's caption. "It means the world to all of us! 'Dancing On My Own' is one of our favorite songs (by Robyn who is one of our favorite artists) and we’re so very proud to share it with you. We hope you love it as much as we do and we’re excited to share new music (and more) with you very, very soon. We love you!"
It's hard not to notice the glaring absence of former band member Avi Kaplan, but nonetheless the cover is still stunning.
