Patti LuPone and Madonna share something in common: they both played the iconic role of Evita.
Madonna starred in the 1996 film where as LuPone originated the role in 1979 on Broadway. When asked by Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen last night what her thoughts were of the Queen of Pop's adaptation, LuPone didn't hold back.
“I saw ‘Buenos Aires’ and thought it was a piece of shit,” LuPone quipped. “Madonna is a movie killer. She’s dead behind the eyes. She couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag. She should not be on film or on stage. She’s a wonderful performer for what she does, but she is not an actress.”
LuPone also mentioned the only interaction they ever had together was at Madonna's opening night party for the movie when Madge noted that she was taller than LuPone.
