Everyone's favorite French ode to prostitution just got yet another new lease of life on Dancing With The Stars.
Patti LaBelle might have been voted off of Dancing With The Stars earlier in the season but this week she returned to the ballroom floor with a flawlessly triumphant rendition of her signature hit "Lady Marmalade". Joined by fellow former contestants Amber Riley and Lil' Kim, the trio stormed their way through the 1974 disco smash.
There's no words really. Amber sounded amazing, as always, Kim's still got heaps of her signature swag and as for Miss Patti... Call me when your fave sounds that amazing at 70. If you can watch the entirety of that performance without dancing around your living room like a lunatic you're a stronger man than I am.
"Lady Marmalade" has enjoyed more reinventions than Lil' Kim's face, and of course the rendition best known to our generation is the Grammy winning cut from 2001's Moulin Rouge!, starring Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya and Lil' Kim herself. The song hit #1 all across the globe and was actually Xtina's last Billboard #1 until 2011's "Moves Like Jagger", Pink's first #1 and last until 2008's "So What", and the first and only Hot 100 #1 for Mya and Lil' Kim. The more you know, eh?
"Lady Marmalade" will forever remain a jam and that's just something you're going to have to deal with, I'm afraid.
