'OK, see you in a bit, guys!'
Pop music just isn't the same without One Direction. The guys are furiously pursuing solo projects since announcing their departure, but it's hard overcoming the nagging void the influential boyband left since calling it quits. The guys (minus Zayn) have assured fans they'll reunite at some point, and in one small way that moment has already arrived.
To celebrate "History" winning Video of the Year at the BRIT Awards last week, directors Ben Winston and Gabe Turner shared an extended scene of the iconic ending where the guys walk away from each other going in different directions. The full clip that was left on the cutting room floor until now shows them running back to each other, and it's giving One Directioners the feels.
In an interview with MTV in Feb. 2016, Winston and Turner told MTV they cut the full scene because it didn't fit.
"I think too much has been read into that ending where they walk off in different directions," Winston said. "Because actually, they do run back together at the end. But I don’t know why…"
Turner chimed in: "It just didn’t look that great. But there certainly wasn’t any… it wasn’t supposed to be them walking off, it was just kind of like an, 'OK, see you in a bit, guys!'"
