One Direction Premiere “Ironic Love Song” ‘Perfect’
The hotly anticipated second single from One Direction’s fifth album Made In The A.M has premiered on UK radio.
The dreamy Mumford And Sons’-esque alt-rock track shows a maturing approach to songwriting from the band, as it deconstructs what we’ve typically come to expect from the average boy band tune. Perfect takes apart the concept of idealistic romance and instead opts to promote a “right here, right now” approach.
Check out the new track below:
Louis Tomlinson spoke to Good Morning Britain recently about writing the track with bandmate Harry Styles, describing the song’s message as “you’re not the typical knight in shining armor, Romeo kinda guy…you’re not taking it so seriously. It’s more about the moment.”
The music video is set to debut some time next week according to Metro. The vid was directed by Sophie Muller – who has directed Rihanna’s Stay, Selena’s Good For You and Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie – and filming completed in early September.
One Direction are at the tail end of their massive On The Road Again Tour, which wraps up on Halloween. They will then stage various promotional performances in London, Mexico and the USA throughout November and December.
Perfect is available on iTunes now.
