Enjoy these while they last!
One Direction confirmed buzz this week they're taking an extended hiatus next year, so performances like their recent visit on Good Morning America are extra special. The foursome performed "No Control" off their recent record Four, and it's bizarrely fitting. The remaining band members have no control over what's being said and how that's getting distributed. Most recently, it was thought Sony execs were pushing to sign Harry Styles as a solo artist, but was later denied, saying “No discussions about solo deals are happening with any members of One Direction currently. Sony are fully committed to all of One Direction and are looking forward to the release of the group’s new album.”
Even head honcho Simon Cowell admits he's not really sure what's going on. "I've known for months that they wanted to take a break. They haven't announced an official break-up because I don't think they're quite sure what they want to do yet, other than have some time off. After five years - I know what their schedule was like - it was grueling. They would have burned themselves out. We've never been in a situation where we say, 'We think you should do this' or 'We think you should do that'. I would say, 'Tell me what you want to do and we'll support you either way'."
The guys performed on GMA in Central Park in NYC earlier this month, but "No Control" did air until today. Enjoy:
