All these lights, they can't blind me.
The guys of One Direction are taking an extended break in 2016 to pursue solo careers, but before they bow out they might give their fans one last finale and perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.
The NFL asked Bruno Mars to "curate" the show despite taking the stage in 2014, and it might feature the boyband.
"NFL bosses want a superstar line-up and 1D are very much in the mix," a source told the Daily Star.
"They want a pop and rock mash-up and it is thought that Coldplay and Bruno Mars are in talks too. NFL bigwigs want a one-off show that will be remembered and garner the greatest audience figures ever," the source continued. "Obviously the 12-minute half-time show will be worth millions in revenue, sales and downloads too."
One name fans of music want to see thrown in the mix is Britney Spears, who recently extended her Piece Of Me residency in Las Vegas. Mars also calls Vegas home several times a year with his residency at the Cosmo hotel, so perhaps the two can join forces on stage at the biggest sporting event of the year.
Anyway, back to One Direction.
"With the band finishing," the source continued of 1D, "it would be the ultimate way for the group to say farewell to their fans."
