Noah Cyrus is one of my favorite up and comers this year after releasing "Make Me (Cry)" featuring Labrinth. The quirky cut about love and desperation managed to crack the Top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100, an impressive feat for a debut artist. Having a famous last name certainly helped, but the 17-year-old is talented in her own right. As she continues to figure out her place in music, the singer-songwriter is readying a followup; the next single off her forthcoming album NC-17 is titled "Stay Together" and it's out now.
On it, Noah unapologetically sings about an epic night out with her friends. "I drank straight to my head / I went outside to smoke a cigarette and I shattered my phone on the cement, but I don't give a fuck," she croons over a building beat and anthemic oohs. "Nothing lasts forever but wouldn't it be nice to stay together for the night / We can do whatever as long as we're together then we're gonna be alright."
"Stay Together" couldn't come at a better time; high school seniors and 20-somethings that are about to graduate will get a kick out of this. Life is short, and Noah reminds us to live in the moment. Even if it means tomorrow is ruined.
Noah premiered a lyric video for the track. Watch below:
