It may have taken three years for Nicki Minaj's feature on Parker Ighile to debut, but it was well worth the wait.
The trickling and airy "Remember Me" is a beautiful twist of rap and R&B, but don't let the warmness engulf you – it's a song about breaking up. "How could I ever forget you? Though at times... I wonder if I ever knew you," Minaj coos, "and wonder if you ever knew me."
The song might sound fresh to deaf, but it's existed online in some capacity for over three years (sans Minaj's verse). It surfaced around the time Ighile, who's worked with Rihanna and Ariana Grande, signed to Minaj's record label. Only three months ago, Minaj was teasing the song on her Instagram:
“I’m still an active producer and I’ve been focusing on building a foundation for my sound by working with other artists,” Ighile told Billboard in 2014. “I’m an extremely patient person and I believe that when the listeners hear the body of work they will understand why I’ve taken the time to perfect it.”
